Why do we have a privacy notice?

A privacy notice is a legally required document that organisations produce to explain to individuals (you) how their personal data is processed and stored.

Its aims are to promote transparency and to give the individual more control over the way their data is collected and used.

What data do we collect?

We collect and internally store all or some of the following, name, address, contact telephone number, email address and transactional details of all customers who purchase from us.  We also record what you purchased and when.  We collect and internally store name and email information of those who sign up via the website for a 10% discount on their first order.  Comments and reviews are also collected via the website, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.

Why do we collect this data & what do we use the data for?

Most of the data is gathered simply to process a transaction and is kept as a record of that transaction for up to seven years to meet current standard accounting practice.  At the point of sale, you should be asked if you wish to receive promotional information on offers, sales, and exhibitions, etc from us in the future.  

We also sometimes use the data internally to understand what products people like best, where in the world those people come from and if they return to purchase again.  We use this data to improve our service, what we offer and how we offer it.  For example, information on where most buyers live may then influence our marketing strategies. For example, if lots of people who purchase from us live in the USA, we may seek to arrange a gallery exhibition in New York.

Individuals who provide data to receive the 10% first order discount are sent an email confirming their information has been received and asked if they are happy to receive further information from us.  This can be stopped at any time by contacting us on the details below.

Comments and reviews from social media are used to improve our service and may also be used in promotional information. Any comment used would only include none specific personal data.  For example part or all of the review or comment may be quoted with Miss S, England and a date.   

Although we may contact you directly regarding offers, sales and future events.  We DO NOT sell data to third parties.
